Nancy Gantt, M.D., assumes leadership role with American College of Surgeons
Nancy L. Gantt, M.D., FACS, professor of surgery at NEOMED, was initiated as first vice-president of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) during the group’s Clinical Congress 2024, held in San Francisco, California, on Oct. 19.
The ACS has approximately 90,000 members and is the largest organization of surgeons in the world.
A well-respected surgeon and educator, Dr. Gantt has been an ACS fellow since 1992. She is co-medical director of the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center at Mercy Health–St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. She is past vice-chair of the ACS Board of Governors Executive Committee and Diversity Pillar Lead.
In an interview with the Youngstown Business Journal about her new role with ACS, Dr. Gantt noted “I look forward to harnessing our collective leadership to continue advancing surgical care and education for the benefit of surgeons from around the world.”
