National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Transitioning to 3-digit line for Crisis Care

This July, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline will transition to the three-digit dialing code 988.

Since 2005, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline has helped thousands of Ohioans in emotional distress and crisis.

This transition is designed to better connect crisis care services with individuals and families experiencing a mental health or addiction crisis, using 988 as an entry point into Ohio’s crisis care system.

The Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health will host “What the Launch of 988 Means for Crisis Care” webinar on Tuesday, April 26 from 12-1 p.m. presented by Stacey Frohnapfel-Hasson M.P.A., O.C.P.C. bureau chief, Prevention and Program Gambling Services, Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

Register today for this important conversation to learn

  • how 988 will change the front door for crisis care;
  • how the 988 network will work in Ohio; and
  • how to create a campus community plan for integration and service supports.
