The NEOMED American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is currently looking for faculty/staff/alumni (not just from the College of Pharmacy) to play in our annual Match Madness Basketball Tournament.
The tournament will be held from 5:30- 9:30 p.m., Friday, March 15, at Tallmadge High School (new location). We use this tournament to raise money for student scholarships and as part of our national Operation Heart Initiative, which aims to encourage physical activity to improve cardiovascular health.
One highlight of the tournament is that once we get the winning pharmacy cohort team, they get to play in the championship game against the faculty/staff/alumni team. We currently have our pharmacy cohort teams filled, but are still looking for players for the faculty/staff/alumni team.
The cost to play in the tournament is $20 and includes a team shirt. Additionally, family and friends can come watch the tournament for $7/adult. The championship game is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m., so any faculty/staff/alumni who would like to participate, would just need to arrive a little before that time, so that they have time to change into their team shirt.
We have created a Google form for faculty/staff/alumni to sign-up and they can pay the night of the tournament, using either cash or card.
