NEOMED Foundation appoints three new board members
The NEOMED Foundation is proud to announce the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors. The new appointees will each serve a three-year term from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029.
Amanda Banner
Banner is a vice president and senior trust advisor at Huntington National Bank, based in the company’s Youngstown office. Previously, she was the owner of Banner Law, LLC, and spent one year as the assistant prosecuting attorney for the Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office. She has also served as a staff attorney for the Seventh District Court of Appeals, and has served as a board member for several nonprofits in the Youngstown area. Banner is a key point of contact for NEOMED in coordinating contributions from donors with foundations managed by Huntington.
Joel D. Marx
Marx was a member of the NEOMED Foundation Board of Directors from 2018-2025, and served as treasurer and chair of the Investment and Finance Committee during his time on the board. Marx serves as chairman of Medical Service Company, a post-acute healthcare provider that specializes in sleep disorders and chronic respiratory disease management. He joined the company as CEO in 1974, was named president in 1985, and has served in his current role since 2010. He is past chair of the American Association for Homecare and the Home Medical Equipment Respiratory Therapy Council, and was president of the Ohio Association of Medical Equipment Services. In 2024, he was named the Van Miller Homecare Champion by the American Association for Homecare. Marx has been a generous supporter of NEOMED and recently named an operatory in the Bitonte College of Dentistry.
Kendra C. Myers
Myers is vice president of the Assurance Services Group at Meaden & Moore, an accounting and advisory firm, where she oversees the company’s not-for-profit practice. She currently serves on several boards for Akron-area nonprofits, and was a founding committee member of the Black Giving Collective Fund of the Akron Community Foundation. Myers was recently recognized as an Established Women Leader by ATHENA Akron, was the 2025 recipient of the Dr. Frank L. Simonetti Distinguished Business Alumni Award from The University of Akron, and received the Power of Change Award from the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants in 2024. She was named a Cleveland Magazine Woman of Distinction in 2024; a 40 under 40 Black CPA in 2021; a member of the Crain’s Cleveland Business 40 under 40 list in 2021; and a Greater Akron Chamber 30 for the Future honoree in 2016.
