NEOMED has a new Employee Resource Group!

As the university grows and our population diversifies, it is only fitting that the university would sponsor an environment for inclusion and equity. In this spirit, the Black/Latinx Employee Resource Group has officially been established.

The inaugural Executive Committee was elected recently, and these are your new representatives:

  • Co-presidents: Crystal N. Dunivant and Victor Torres
  • Secretary: James Moore
  • Treasurer: Iris Mirelez

This new ERG promotes dialogue with the university’s leadership to better address the underrepresentation of the African American/ Black and Hispanic/Latinx communities at our institution. At the same time, promoting professional development, networking, career advancement and community outreach activities at Northeast Ohio Medical University that enhance and support the personal and professional development of Black and Latinx faculty and staff.

This ERG serves as a platform to better understand and address issues that disproportionately affect people that have been historically oppressed, provides members an opportunity for networking and building connections, and contributes to a culture of inclusion, equity, and belonging at NEOMED.
