NEOMED Health Care at Kent State's DeWeese Health Center: Grand opening!

Northeast Ohio Medical University officially marked a significant milestone on July 1 with the opening of NEOMED Health Care at Kent State University's DeWeese Health Center. The new practice is led by Richard M. Wardrop III, M.D., Ph.D., MACP, SFHM, FAAP, NEOMED Health Care's chief medical officer, clinical physician, and professor of medicine and pediatrics. Dr. Wardrop will oversee the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centered care through this new partnership.

Through the collaboration, NEOMED Health Care now operates the on-campus health center at Kent State, expanding access to high-quality healthcare for KSU students, faculty and staff. Many familiar DeWeese Health Center staff members remain in place, working alongside NEOMED's team of board-certified physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless transition and continuity of care.

Patients will benefit from expanded primary and preventive care services, chronic disease management, women's health services, travel medicine and enhanced psychiatric care. The health center also introduces Epic's electronic medical record system and MyChart, providing patients with secure, convenient access to appointments, test results and their health information. The partnership reflects both institutions' shared commitment to advancing health, wellness and exceptional care for the campus community.
