NEOMED Library Selected for OhioLINK Luminaries Program to Promote D,E&I

NEOMED’s Library was one of only 10 institutions selected to participate in OhioLINK’s Luminaries program during the 2022-2023 academic year.

The OhioLINK Library Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative seeks to create and promote career opportunities in librarianship, information studies, and data sciences to individuals from under-represented populations and economically disadvantaged environments.

The initiative aims to identify and encourage diverse candidates for Ohio’s libraries and library-related industries that are more representative of the state’s population, while also encouraging and supporting efforts towards greater diversity, equity, and inclusion at the library level.

“The Luminary student will experience valuable mentoring with NEOMED’s expert library staff to gain knowledge in the Library and Information Science field, while developing marketable skills that extend to a variety of career disciplines;” states Executive Director, Terri Robinson, Ph.D., “we look forward to welcoming them to campus.”

If you know any undergraduate students who would be interested in this opportunity, please have them reach out to Shelley Harrell, Ph.D., reference librarian at 330-325-6378 or sharrell@neomed.edu.
