NEOMED mobilizes global health resources to support Nepal’s recovery
In the wake of devastating events in Nepal that have severely damaged critical healthcare and water infrastructure, Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) is mobilizing its Global Health expertise to support recovery and rebuilding efforts. Partnering with international organizations, NEOMED will bring together faculty, students, and resources to address urgent health, environmental, and water needs across impacted communities.
NEOMED is collaborating with the Crocker Catalyst Foundation and the Global EnviroHealth Initiative to maximize the impact of this relief framework that will not only meet immediate needs but also strengthen community health systems for the future. Several NEOMED students will travel to Nepal and actively build sustainable, long-term global health solutions.
“At NEOMED, we believe education is a powerful catalyst for healthier lives and stronger communities,” said NEOMED President Dr. John Langell. “Through our Global Health partnerships, NEOMED students will work to help the families of NEPAL heal after this catastrophic natural disaster.”
To ensure the long-term viability of these field initiatives, the NEOMED Foundation has established a dedicated public giving opportunity. Donations will directly fund health and water infrastructure projects in Nepal and support student participation in the region.
