NEOMED mourns the loss of Doreen Riley

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Doreen Riley on January 26, 2025. Doreen, who served as Northeast Ohio Medical University’s vice president for advancement and president of the NEOMED Foundation, left an indelible mark on our community.

“We are heartbroken by the loss of Doreen, and she will be deeply missed,” said NEOMED President John T. Langell. “Doreen brought so much passion, dedication and purpose to her work with us. As a cherished member of our leadership team, she had a lasting impact on everyone around her, and her warmth and commitment will never be forgotten.”

Doreen’s dedication was instrumental in building a strong advancement team at NEOMED, and she played a key role in securing vital funding for the creation of the University’s new Bitonte College of Dentistry.

Joining NEOMED in June 2022, Doreen worked with us until 2024, and during that time, she touched many lives with her commitment, generosity and vision. She will always be remembered for the warmth and care she brought to everything she did.

Details regarding her funeral service can be found here.
