NEOMED scientists recognized among top 2% globally

Professor emeritus John Chiang, Ph.D., has had a lot of achievements throughout his career in researching fatty liver disease and related pathologies.

To add one more, he tops the list of NEOMED researchers included among the top 2% most-cited scientists in the world. The list was published recently by Stanford University scholars.

Fourteen NEOMED faculty were recognized in the top 2% of scientists list for career and/or single year citations.

The report is based on an Oct. 1, 2023, snapshot from Scopus, updated to the end of citation year 2022. The top 2% are determined by c-score and other factors.

Additional researchers who joined the University after 2022, such as Marc Basson, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A., dean of the College of Medicine, also ranked in the top 2% of most-cited scientists.

Congratulations to our faculty!
