NEOMED volunteers ensure success of Browns Summer Blitz
A group of NEOMED students, faculty and staff volunteered with the Cleveland Browns for the eighth annual Summer Blitz. The community service event was held at the CrossCountry Mortgage Campus on June 17.
Volunteers from NEOMED, the Browns organization and the community completed a variety of projects representing the three core areas of the Browns’ philanthropic initiative, Browns Give Back: education, youth football and creating equitable opportunities for advancement in Ohio.
Volunteers assembled bicycles, scooters and field benches; made blankets; and put together back-to-school kits and sports bags.
“I was really excited to get involved with NEOMED’s mission to give back to the people and communities near us, especially working alongside the Browns,” said second-year medical student Dalton McGlamery. “This was such a fun and engaging way to do that.”
“Even a little rain could not dampen the privilege of working alongside Cleveland Browns staff and my fellow NEOMED students to advance the core mission of Browns Give Back through teamwork and community service,” added second-year medical student Quintaris Earl.
