NEOMED well-represented at Future of Shades of Medicine expo

On Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, the fifth annual Future Shades of Medicine Youth and Young Adult Career Expo, presented by University Hospitals, took place at Huntington Bank Field, home of the Cleveland Browns.

NEOMED was represented by students from three of its colleges: Mir Ali from the Bitonte College of Dentistry; Riley Becker, Marisa DeScicio, Hayat Mohammed, Brianna Owairu and Dante Yarbrough from the College of Medicine; and Kiara Lauer and Nita Mara from the College of Pharmacy.

Representing student organizations including First-Generation Medical Professionals (FGMP), the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA), and the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), the students led interactive displays and connected with ambitious young attendees.

Attendees ranged from middle schoolers to high school seniors, all united by a shared goal: gaining exposure to the wide range of careers in medicine. Nursing students, sports medicine professionals and dermatologists were just a few of the others on hand to share their paths.
