Inside NEOMED: The Northeast Regional Library Depository

At NEOMED, innovation isn't just in our labs – it's also in our archives!

The Northeast Regional Library Depository, nestled on our Rootstown campus, stands as a testament to strategic collaboration and a commitment to advancing higher education across Northeast Ohio.

As a high-density storage facility with 16 miles of shelf space, it meticulously houses and cares for extensive library collections from five major university partners: The University of Akron, Cleveland State University, Kent State University, Youngstown State University, and NEOMED itself. Think of it as a shared academic vault, expertly managed to ensure these vital resources are preserved for future scholars.

More than just storage, the Depository provides seamless access to these collections, directly supporting the research goals and educational efforts of thousands of students and faculty. Its team offers specialized expertise in patron service, making sure that retrieving even the most unique resource is a smooth process. Furthermore, this facility is a cornerstone of Ohio's initiatives for statewide collective sharing of academic resources, setting a benchmark for efficiency and cooperation.

The Northeast Regional Library Depository exemplifies how shared vision can amplify impact. We're incredibly proud of NEOMED's role in this cooperative venture, helping to unlock a vast treasure trove of knowledge for our entire region.
