NEOMED’s Two NEOvations
You may be aware of two different ‘NEOvations’ at NEOMED – NEOvations Pharmacy Services and NEOvations Bench to Bedside. While these two entities share a name, they are quite different from one another and serve different groups on campus.
NEOvations Pharmacy Services
NEOvations Pharmacy Services provides patients with wellness care, such as annual medication reviews, immunization and routine vaccines, including for travel. The service is available to all NEOMED employees and their dependents, regardless of their health plan.
Services include:
- Medication Check-Up – a one-on-one comprehensive review of your medications.
- Diabetes Consultation – services include unlimited access to a Board-Certified Pharmacist in Advanced Diabetes Management and optional two-week continuous glucose monitoring (CGM)
- Immunization Services – including annual influenza, COVID-19, routine vaccines and travel vaccines.
NEOvations Pharmacy Services also provides biometric screening through point-of-care testing – including screenings for diabetes, blood pressure, total cholesterol panel, body mass index and thyroid – for individuals and employer groups.

NEOvations Bench to Bedside
NEOvations Bench to Bedside is a program for students to collaborate with industry professionals to develop medical innovations from concept to prototype. Over the course of seven months, students work closely with medical professionals, industry experts and investors to address unmet patient needs through different forms of medical technology, including physical devices and apps to improve the patient experience. Students gain valuable hands-on experience in all phases of the bench-to-bedside process, including prototyping, intellectual property and market evaluation.
Each year, the program ends the academic year with a project showcase where teams present their medical technology to a panel of judges that includes industry leaders and venture capitalists. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards, in addition to a People’s Choice Award voted on by attendees, are presented to winning teams, providing seed money for their medical technology.
The NEOvations Bench to Bedside Project Showcase is scheduled from 4-7 p.m., April 8, 2025, in the Jay A. Gershen Atrium in the NEW Center.
Any students interested in joining the program, as well as individuals looking to serve as mentor and judges, may contact Fayez Safadi, Ph.D., at fsafadi@neomed.edu.
