The YouTube video created by Mr. Beast, a social media influencer with millions of followers across all channels, features a group of people working to build a hospital in a remote part of Nepal, with no electricity.
It all started when local, Sanjay, who was working in the upper Himalayans where he found a baby in a wooden box and he came up with the idea to build a baby warmer, named Nyano Nani, or in Nepali “a warm baby”. Nyano Nani was a collaboration between NEOMED and the Nepal Innovation Center with medical leads with fourth-year College of Medicine students, Nik Brzezinski and Scott Everett, and second-year medicine student Zoya Khan. The device won The People's Choice Award at NEOMED NEOvations Bench to Bedside Competition in 2022.
This year’s NEOvations Bench to Bedside Competition will take place on Wednesday, May 1 from 4 – 7 p.m. in the NEW Center.
