New Role for Jenkinson in College of Graduate Studies

As the College of Graduate Studies continues to grow, it looked to a long-time employee to help lead the charge. Phil Jenkinson was appointed to director of operations for the College, a new position as the College gains more academic programs, students, faculty and support staff.

Jenkinson has been with Graduate Studies since 2017, arriving to NEOMED as a program coordinator before being moved up to a program manager. His new role as director of operations began in July 2022.

Jenkinson’s new role is to provide additional administrative structure for the College that has expanded rapidly to include new academic programs like the Global Health & Innovation master's and graduate certificate, Master of Medical Science in Anesthesia and the Innovation track within the Basic and Translational Biomedicine program.

“We’re working on creating additional programs that will help create more health professionals to serve our communities,” said Jenkinson.

Ultimately, much of Jenkinson’s work will be to benefit the students.

“My role is to work for the students by working with other support services at NEOMED,” said Jenkinson. “I’ll be advocating for our students and working with them to understand their needs and how we can help them reach their goals.”

“COGS has grown so much in the past five years since I started here, and I’m very excited for our upcoming plans and what the next five years will bring,” reflected Jenkinson.
