New soccer field enhances campus life
Physical activity plays a vital role in fostering a healthy and well-rounded campus environment. Recognizing the importance of recreational facilities and the wellness needs of our students, President John Langell and his wife, Sara Whittingham, M.D., generously supported the revitalization of the field located on the south side of campus, near Parking Lot C. Because of their support, the space will be known at Langell-Whittingham Field (Langell Field, for short).
Soccer goals were also provided for the field through Strategic Initiative Funds (SIF), NEOMED beautification. Students, student organizations, faculty and staff who wish to use the field are encouraged to book the space through Outlook [search for Langell Field (ORS #1)] or through Campus Groups for student organization reservations.
Langell-Whittingham Field provides recreational space, but is also an avenue for physical fitness and community building. The new soccer field truly embodies the spirit of our University’s commitment to creating a vibrant campus community and providing exceptional student experiences.
