Panovich and Bloom Ride with 40,000 Other Cyclists Through NYC

Sandra Panovich, dissemination coordinator in Psychiatry, and Kara Bloom, program coordinator in Family and Community Medicine, participated in the Five Boro Bike Tour on May 1.

The TD Five Boro Bike Tour is an annual charitable cycling event in New York City conducted on the first Sunday of May.

The 40-mile (64 km) ride began over 40 years ago and has up to 40,000 riders per year.

The route takes riders through all five of New York's boroughs and across five major bridges.

The entire route, including bridges and expressways which normally prohibit cyclists, is closed to automobile traffic for the ride.
