Peg's exhibit recognizes NEOMED and other key partners

Peg’s Foundation, a national leader in mental health philanthropy and committed supporter of NEOMED, is celebrating 25 years of impact, marking a quarter-century of philanthropy, systems change and the belief that people living with serious mental illness deserve dignity, opportunity and the chance to thrive.

Founded in 2001 by Peg and Burt Morgan, the foundation was created to improve the lives of people with serious mental illness and advance the belief that recovery should be expected.

Over the past 25 years, Peg’s has become a catalyst for innovation in Northeast Ohio and beyond, investing more than $125,000,000 to organizations, initiatives and partnerships that are transforming mental health systems, expanding access to care and changing public understanding of mental illness.

Key investments and partnerships have included support for NEOMED and other organizations such as:

  • NAMI
  • Kent State University School of Fashion
  • Cummings Center for the History of Psychology at the University of Akron
  • Regional arts organizations and local nonprofit leaders
  • Innovative crisis response and behavioral health systems initiatives
  • Recovery-centered programs serving individuals and families across Ohio

As part of the anniversary celebration, Peg’s is presenting 25 Years of Impact, a public exhibition through September 5, 2026, at Peg’s Gallery (53 First St, Hudson, OH 44236).

The exhibition traces the Foundation’s journey through stories, images and artifacts that reflect the evolution of Peg Morgan’s vision and the many partnerships that brought it to life. Visitors will explore milestones in mental health advocacy, philanthropy, arts engagement and community transformation. Also on campus, Eighty-Six Reasons for Asylum Admission: A Domestic Beginning, an exhibit by Ohio porcelain artist Kimberly Chapman, explores why people were institutionalized in asylums from the mid-nineteenth century through the 1970s.
