Pharmacy student appointed to national advisory committee

Congratulations to Deanna Laughlin, a second-year student in the College of Pharmacy, who has been appointed as a committee member for the 2024-2025 term by the ASHP Pharmacy Student Forum Executive Committee.

Laughlin will serve on the Career and Leadership Development Advisory Group, which advises the American Society for Health-system Pharmacists regarding professional development, career exploration opportunities, and the growth and development of future pharmacy leaders.

“I chose to apply for this position with the ASHP Career and Leadership Development advisory board because I’m very passionate about one's development in the field of pharmacy,” Laughlin noted. “Career and leadership development is not one size fits all and I hope to share that individuality is what makes one a great leader.”

Laughlin hopes to grow her “soft skills” through the appointment and expand her cultural perspective through communication with committee members from diverse backgrounds.

She also expects her work on the committee to inform her involvement on campus.

“I hope to bring new ideas to grow career and leadership development here at NEOMED for all students,” she said.

Congratulations, Deanna!
