‘Pitt’ physician joins the next VITALS
Brent Rau, M.D., FACEP, Emergency Department medical director for Allegheny Health Network and the inspiration and consultant for The Pitt, joins VITALS | Visionary Health Leadership in Action at noon, Thursday, Sept. 3, in Watanakunakorn Auditorium and via Zoom.
Dr. Rau will share his insights on leadership in emergency medicine and his experience working with the hit television show.
VITALS is NEOMED's health leadership speaker series presented with University Hospitals.

About Dr. Rau
Brent Rau, M.D., FACEP, grew up in Dayton, Ohio, graduating from Bellbrook High School in 2004. He earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 2008 and his M.D. from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in 2012. Dr. Rau completed his emergency medicine residency at Allegheny Health Network’s (AHN) Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) in Pittsburgh in 2015.
After practicing in the Pittsburgh area, he joined the faculty of the emergency medicine residency program as an attending physician at AGH. He has held various leadership roles, becoming medical director of the AGH emergency department around the same time as the initial writing and filming of season 1 of HBO's series The Pitt. He also currently serves as vice chair of emergency medicine for AHN.
Outside of his work in the ED, teaching residents and consulting for The Pitt, Dr. Rau enjoys traveling with his family, playing golf and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.
