'Positive Change' publication earns CASE District V Award

NEOMED's successful strategic efforts to increase diversity among the student body and plans for increasing diversity among faculty and staff were presented in the report titled “Positive Change: PDEAC Impact Report 2022."

Reflecting the work of many, including the President's Diversity and Equity Advisory Council, as well as representatives from faculty, staff and students, the PDEAC report has been recognized by District V of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education with a Best of CASE District V Award for Publications: President's Reports and Annual Reports.

District V encompasses Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin.

From 2019 to 2022, the number of underrepresented minority students enrolled in the NEOMED College of Medicine increased from less than 6% to 25%. The PDEAC report shares the stories of how NEOMED achieved that success and others, along with goals for the future.

A special congratulations and thanks to PDEAC chair Daisy Alford-Smith and the President’s Diversity and Equity Advisory Council for their leadership, as well to senior graphic designer Scott J. Rutan for his graphic design and layout of the award-winning publication.
