Recent Announcement on Changes to Public Service Loan Forgiveness

On Oct. 6, 2021, the U.S. Department of Education’s office of Federal Student Aid announced immediate (but temporary) changes to the qualifications for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

These changes do not have immediate effects on currently enrolled students. Those affected are those currently in active repayment and have made past payments on loans that would otherwise not qualify for PSLF.

Additional information can be found on the Federal Student Aid website. Currently enrolled students do not need to do anything.

If you have questions on how your loan portfolio could be affected by your desire to seek Public Service Loan Forgiveness, you’re encouraged to schedule an appointment with a member of the Financial Aid team by emailing with dates, times and meeting preference (in person, zoom or phone call). We are happy to work with you to determine your options post-enrollment.
