Registration open for John P. Murphy Symposium in Medical Humanities
Registration is now open for the John P. Murphy Symposium in Medical Humanities. This event brings together Ohio medical students, faculty and others engaged in the health humanities for a day of connection, collaboration and shared learning. The awards ceremony for NEOMED's annual William Carlos Williams poetry competition will be held in conjunction with the symposium this year—we welcome all students, faculty and staff to attend!
The symposium will be held Saturday, March 28, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Clinic Health Education Campus, 9501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland. Pastries, lunch, snacks and dessert reception provided.
Generously supported by a grant from the John P. Murphy Foundation, the symposium is free and open to all presenters and attendees. Programming includes a keynote address by cardiologist and author Dr. Shirlene Oboubi, student presentations, and interactive workshops exploring the medical and health humanities and arts. Student participation is especially encouraged, and awards for outstanding presentations—selected by attendee vote—will be presented at the conclusion of the symposium.
