Representing NEOMED at ACP Leadership Day

Adeline Whaley (pictured, right), a third-year student in NEOMED’s College of Medicine, represented the college at the American College of Physicians (ACP) Leadership Day in Washington, D.C. The annual advocacy event held in May, brought together physicians, trainees and healthcare leaders from across the country to meet with members of Congress and White House officials to discuss policies affecting patient care and the healthcare workforce. 

Joining Whaley as part of the Ohio delegation were NEOMED alumni and faculty Michael Tan, M.D. (’99), section head of infectious diseases and professor of internal medicine, and Mehool Patel, M.D. (’98), chair and professor of internal medicine. Together, they advocated for policies aimed at improving access to high-quality, equitable healthcare and highlighted the important role physicians and physicians-in-training play in shaping healthcare policy. 

Participation in ACP Leadership Day provided an opportunity for NEOMED to contribute to national conversations on healthcare while demonstrating the University's commitment to physician leadership, advocacy and service.
