Retired Vice Admiral C. Forrest Faison, M.D., to Deliver 2022 Commencement Address

Forrest Faison, III, M.D., vice admiral (retired) Medical Corps, United States Navy, will be the guest speaker for NEOMED’s 42nd Commencement, taking place from 10 a.m.- noon Saturday, May 7, at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall in Akron.

Dr. Faison will also preside over the pinning of military students in the graduating class.

An internationally recognized and published author and speaker on health care innovation and health information technologies, virtual care, emerging trends and the future of health care, Dr. Faison previously served as vice admiral and surgeon general for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. In the latter position, he led a worldwide team of 67,000 to care for patients in 128 worldwide medical centers, hospitals, clinics and hospital ships. He also led a global medical education enterprise of over 140 graduate education programs, training more than 1,000 physicians and 5,000 nurses, paraprofessionals and medical technicians annually.

Most recently, Dr. Faison was the senior vice president for Research and Innovation and chief of health strategy at Cleveland State University.
