Retired Vice Admiral Forrest Faison III, M.D., is next VITALS speaker

Forrest Faison III, M.D., Vice Admiral (ret.) and 38th Surgeon General of the U.S. Navy, is on VITALS, noon Thursday, Nov. 10, in Watanakunakorn Auditorium. Participants may also join via Zoom.

The program is presented as part of Creating Transformational Leaders Day, which will be held Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the atrium outside Watanakunakorn Auditorium.

As commander of Navy Medicine West and the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, Dr. Faison was responsible for medical care and support to over 850,000 eligible beneficiaries, overseeing a staff of 16,000 at 10 hospitals and more than 30 clinics from the West Coast to the Indian Ocean. He is board certified, and an associate clinical professor in pediatrics and a distinguished professor of military medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He has several publications on neurodevelopmental outcomes of premature infants as well as other publications and book chapters on the topics of the future of Wounded Warrior, use of telemedicine and health informatics in health care, and value-based care.
