Rural Pathway Students Honored for Photos of Rural America
Photos of rural landscapes by Rural Pathway students Monique Booher (M3) and Sanjay Jinka (M4) earned third place and honorable mention honors from the RTT Collaborative. See the photos.
Monique wrote this about her photo: "[...] I don’t think I’ll ever get better training than I have in a rural setting because it forced me to be an expert in everything and really look at my patients from a broad perspective, as this photo reminds me. I respect the doctors I’ve worked with in this setting thus far because rural doctors truly excel in taking a step back and seeing medicine in full view.”
Sanjay's submission was a photo of his sister taken in his rural hometown. Reflecting on his medical experience, he says, "I hope to come back and serve underserved patients like this after residency to address this gap in health care."
