Scholarship Opportunity - College of Medicine

The Academy of Medicine Education Foundation (AMEF) is now accepting applications for its annual medical student scholarships.

Founded more than 60 years ago by the physician leaders of the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland & Northern Ohio (AMCNO), AMEF has awarded over $2 million in scholarships to deserving medical students. We are proud to continue this longstanding commitment to supporting the next generation of physicians.

Eligibility

Medical students graduating in 2026 who meet the criteria below will be considered by the AMEF Board of Trustees. Completed applications and a current transcript must be submitted no later than Jan. 31, 2026.

To apply, students must meet both of the following criteria:

1. Demonstrated excellence: AMEF scholarships are awarded to graduating M.D. or D.O. students who show strong leadership qualities, involvement in organized medicine, community engagement and academic achievement.
2. Enrollment at an eligible institution: Applicants must be graduating from one of the following medical schools:

• • Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine
  • Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of CWRU
  • Northeast Ohio Medical University
  • Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine

Scholarship recipients will be announced in spring 2026, with funds distributed approximately 4–6 weeks after the announcement.
