Severe Weather Awareness Week

Severe Weather Awareness Week is March 20-26.

The Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness has an informative website with tornado safety tips.

An important tornado safety tip to remember is to DUCK!

  • D – Go DOWN to the lowest level
  • U – Get UNDER something
  • C – COVER your head
  • K – KEEP in shelter until the storm has passed

Possible shelter areas on campus are identified on maps located on the Public Safety portion of NEOMED’s intranet (scroll to the bottom of the page).

As a reminder, Rootstown Township does not have a tornado siren. Rootstown does use a notification system, which includes severe weather alerts specific to Rootstown. Sign up for weather alerts from Rootstown Township.
