Spring Day of Service is a Success!

NEOMED’s Spring Day of Service was a huge success, with more than 30 students and two staff members providing service to five local organizations on March 12.

Volunteers spent their Saturday doing a variety of tasks for nonprofit organizations, including sorting donated food, repairing furniture for low-income households, painting the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, cleaning housing areas for animals, and preparing donated items. Organizations benefiting from these volunteer efforts include the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank, Portage Habitat for Humanity – ReStore, Happy Trails Animal Sanctuary, Pegasus Farms & Therapeutic Equestrian Center, and the Hartville Thrift Shoppe.

Several student organizations participated along with the NEOMED Student Council. In addition, many students joined independently for a service learning experience.
