Students Preparing to Present Innovative Medical Technology at NEOvations Bench to Bedside Competition

It’s the date for which students have been preparing for months — in some cases years. The second annual NEOvations Bench to Bedside Competition is set for 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 21, in the Jay A. Gershen Atrium.

There will be up to 20 teams competing – up from just seven teams in year one. Each team will present their medical technology, including:

  • A biomedical device to treat Parkinson’s symptoms without the need for invasive surgery
  • External support structures to prevent and treat pressure sores in ICU patients
  • A device to rapidly and easily sanitize large spaces in public to prevent the spread of COVID and other infectious diseases
  • An easily usable and transportable baby warming device – completed in collaboration with the Nepal Innovation Center and the Center for Global Health Innovation

Guests may arrive at any time to check out the projects and speak with students. Registration is free, and includes food and two drink tickets. Each of the projects will be judged by medical, legal, entrepreneurial, and industry leaders. The top three teams will receive awards of $10,000, $5,000 and $3,000. Additionally, there will be one $1,000 People’s Choice award.

Register today and support student innovation!
