SUMMA Health to host senior health symposium prioritizing mentation and cognitive health for age-friendly care

NEOMED employees, students, residents and fellows are invited to join staff members of Summa Health Complex Care Institute and other medical professionals for a day of discussion and inquiry from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The symposium will focus on cognitive health and decline; important considerations in the Mentation component of Age-Friendly Care, and will include lectures, panel discussions and interaction with community partners.

This one-day educational event is designed for multidisciplinary care team members including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, therapists, case workers and administrators who care for older adults in their practice.
Summa Health System designates this live activity for a maximum of 7 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians and nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Other disciplines, including nursing, may participate in this CME activity since multiple credentialing bodies accept the AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ as equivalent CE or CEU, as long as the topic is in the applicant’s field or discipline.
The Ohio Physical Therapy Association (OPTA) has approved this course for 6.75 hours of continuing education in Ohio.
