Summer Reading Recommendations: Jayne Poyer

I just read the book Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors and the Drug Company that Addicted America by Beth Macy.

It's a real-life look into how Oxycontin took over America and started the opioid epidemic. She talks to people who took Oxycontin and were addicted after one pill, even though they were assured by their physician that the pills had no addictive qualities. The book is a real eye opener and I think it's a must read for anyone in the medical profession.
