The campus store has its new name!
Chris Kovacich loves her job. As supervisor of the campus store for the past 16 years, Kovacich has seen a lot of changes in the industry. In July, the store reopened in its new location in the NEW Center. The store is now going through another big change as it officially becomes known as “The Pod.”
Kovacich says the idea behind The Pod reflects the store’s commitment to providing the community with an exceptional shopping experience, a wide range of new merchandise and renewed dedication to serving the University community. A pod refers to a group of whales bonded together to care for each other’s young, hunt and migrate. The Pod represents a central meeting point where students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members can come together to celebrate their love for NEOMED. This rename signifies a fresh chapter in the store’s history and a renewed focus on enhancing connections to the University’s spirit.
The Pod boasts an array of exciting additions, including new apparel, snack and drink options, services and accommodations like the White Coat Room.
“We are eager to embrace this fresh new chapter and continue serving as your go-to source of all things NEOMED. As we embark on this exciting change, we would like to express our gratitude for your continued support and loyalty. Your patronage helps us reinvest in our university community,” says Kovacich.
All of the name suggestions provided by the NEOMED community are greatly appreciated. As promised, three people who suggested a name have been randomly selected to win a prize. The winners can collect their prizes at The Pod.
