The Clery Act

The Clery Act is a consumer protection law that aims to provide transparency around campus crime policies and statistics.

Colleges and universities that receive federal funding are required to report Clery crimes, occurring on Clery geography.

What are Clery crimes? Criminal homicide, sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, hate crimes, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, weapons law violations, drug law violations and liquor law violations.
