Third annual Interprofessional Education Day

The College of Pharmacy will offer its third annual Interprofessional Education Day on Tuesday, June 4, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in Cook Alumni Hall at the NEOMED NEW Center. This year's conference will include the following presentations:

Interprofessional Collaboration Curriculum Concentration Student Project Presentations (NEOMED COP students)

  • Describe the objectives for Interprofessional Collaboration Curriculum Concentration student projects.
  • Discuss the methodology, role of the students, results, and conclusions if applicable for the research projects.

Regional Partner Institution Interprofessional Education Program Panel (Dr. Eric Bonilla – Baldwin Wallace University, Dr. Nancy Landgraff – Youngstown State University, Dr. Sonia Alemagno – Kent State University)

  • Compare interprofessional education activities, and approaches used by various academic institutions.
  • Identify resources for interprofessional education used at different academic institutions.

Interdisciplinary Communication in the Era of Large Language Models (Dr. Grant Nelson – Desert Regional Medical Center)

  • Describe how large language models (LLMs) work.
  • List the strengths, weaknesses, and risks of LLM.
  • Access, use, troubleshoot currently available public LLMs.
  • Examine the role of LLMs in fostering individual creative thinking and self-reflection.
  • Discuss how LLMs can be tailored to fit the unique communication needs of diverse disciplines.
  • Evaluate the potential for LLMs to influence decision-making processes in interdisciplinary teams.

This will only be an in-person conference, so please register Friday, May 20, at 5 p.m. ET.

**Note** Please bring your laptop to the conference to be able to participation in the interactive portion of the artificial intelligence presentation on LLMs.
