by Silvia Freund
On May 26, 2026, University Hospitals (UH) and NEOMED hosted the Fostering Cross‑Institutional Research Partnerships to Improve Healthcare Delivery and Outcomes Symposium at the Warren E. Anderrson MidTown Collaboration Center in Cleveland. The event was the kick-off for the newly established UH-NEOMED Health Services Research Collaborative and brought together clinicians, clinician-researchers and researchers committed to improving healthcare effectiveness, efficiency, equity, patient-centeredness and patient safety.
Attendees participated in a series of flash talks highlighting topics such as stroke care, headache care, healthcare access and other areas focused on improving care delivery and outcomes. The event also provided meaningful opportunities for networking and collaboration among attendees already working in health services research, as well as those interested in becoming more engaged in this area.
In addition to the flash talks and networking opportunities, the symposium included the announcement of pilot grant funding to support collaborative research relationships between UH and NEOMED faculty engaged in health services research.
The symposium served as an important step in building stronger connections between UH and NEOMED faculty with shared interests in health services research. Through focused presentations, networking and new pilot funding opportunities, the event encouraged continued collaboration aimed at developing practical, evidence-informed approaches to improving care delivery and patient outcomes.
