University Update video available
NEOMED President Dr. John Langell shared news from around the organization and took questions during a University Update on Feb. 24. Among the highlights:
- More than $87,000 in grant awards were announced since the last update.
- Katherine Tromp, Pharm.D., interim dean of the College of Pharmacy, will chair the local 2025 Go Red for Women initiative from the American Heart Association.
- The Alumni Association Awards will be Saturday, April 5, recognizing distinguished alumni, lifetime achievement and service, and emerging leadership.
- NEOMED students continue to demonstrate their growth as transformational leaders. Among recent achievements: fourth-year pharmacy students Diana Morus and John Rensel have accepted post-doctoral fellowships with SkinCeuticals and Genmab, respectively; second-year medical student Zarah (Khushbakht) Shah, who was recognized as an AMA Rising Star; and three graduating students from the College of Medicine matched into competitive urology residencies.
- Candidates for the position of dean of the Bitonte College of Dentistry will present to the NEOMED community this week.
- Alumnus Frank Papay, M.D. (’84) will deliver the Commencement address on May 3.
