Unsung Heroes: Animal Care Staff of the Comparative Medicine Unit

Even while the University is on break, these employees continue their responsibilities.

The animal care staff of the Comparative Medicine Unit are great examples of Unsung Heroes. They support the NEOMED research effort and help to train young scientists by taking excellent care of a broad variety of animal species. They are here every day, 365 days per year, and are frequently relied on to provide eyes and ears, for our scientist customers.

Some of the staff provide technical expertise and suggestions for care of young animals, which can be important for their survival. Visitors to our animal facility frequently remark on the cleanliness they observe and the minimal odors in rooms full of mice and rats.
