Watch the April University Update
President Dr. John Langell shared news from across the NEOMED at a University Update on April 18.
During the Update Dr. Langell unveiled the newly refreshed 2030 Strategic Plan: Creating Transformation Leaders. The plan introduces a streamlined framework built around three core pillars - Academics, Discovery, and Engagement & Operations. It features 12 targeted strategic initiatives supported by value-driven action plans that outline specific steps to achieve NEOMED’s mission to “Create transformational leaders and improve health.”
Also during the University Update, Dr. Langell:
- Recognized a five-year $2.9 million award from the Health Resources and Services Administration to Patricia Thornborough and the AHEC program
- Recognized student achievements, including:
- Trinity Kronk,D./Ph.D. student and student trustee, who received notice of a four-year $181,588 NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Individual National Service Award
- Sean Hergenrother, M3, who was elected as recipient of the Medical Student Research Scholarship funded by the American Academy of Neurology
- The OTC Challenge team – including pharmacy students Kaitlyn Myk-Kish, Mollie Vergara, Kerstan Schwartz and Hailey Gerrow who presented their project at the Ohio Pharmacists Association Meeting
- Shared upcoming events, including: VITALS with William J. Hicks II, M.D., on May 1; Commencement on May 3; Body Donation Memorial Service on May 5; and Northeast Ohio Health Care Transformation Forum on May 9.
