The Office of the President is pleased to announce that Clayton O’Neal has joined Northeast Ohio Medical University as an administrative specialist, effective Aug. 9, 2021. In this role, O’Neal will provide executive level support to three members of senior management including the chief of staff and secretary to the Board of Trustees; the vice president for government and external affairs; and the vice president for human resources and diversity. These duties were previously overseen by Andrea Coard who will now provide executive level support to the president and the vice president for operations and finance.
Prior to joining NEOMED, O’Neal served as the admissions advisor at Terra State Community College where he was involved with many aspects of the college’s enrollment efforts including working closely with new, transfer and readmitted students. O’Neal led all student employees within the Admissions Office and he worked closely with other departments across campus where he was expected to solve problems, manage multiple projects, assist with communication plans and advise students. O’Neal previously worked at Kent State University as an admissions advisor and senior office assistant within student accessibility services. He was also the station manager for TV2, the award-winning, student-run television station at the university. O’Neal has strong project management skills and has extensive experience in team development as well as relationship building.
O’Neal received his Bachelor of Science in Journalism degree from Kent State University and is currently enrolled at the University of Tennessee where he is working toward a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration.
