What’s the difference between a tornado watch and a tornado warning?

According to the National Weather Service, a tornado watch means you should be prepared because a tornado is possible.

A tornado warning means you should seek shelter immediately because a tornado is expected.

How will NEOMED communicate to the community during tornado watches and warnings?

  1. Remember to enable the emergency alerts on your phone (these are not communications from NEOMED, but it is a good practice to have them enabled so you always receive emergency alerts wherever you are).
  2. NEOMED will use our RAVE Alert system to notify the campus community of tornado warnings in Rootstown Township.
  • If you are not signed up for RAVE Alerts, click here and follow the instructions listed.
