Tips: How to add the Student Research Symposium to your CV

Congratulations to the 156 NEOMED students who participated in the Student Research Symposium on November 22, 2024. Now is the time to enter your scholarly activities into your Curriculum Vitae (CV). After discussion with Dr. German, Dr. Aultman, and Harmony Stanger, here are some suggestions:
- Everyone should create an entry in their ABSTRACT section
- Everyone who presented a poster or an oral presentation should have an entry in their PRESENTATIONS section
- Everyone who published in the NEOMED Journal of Medical Sciences (or another peer-reviewed journal) should have an entry in their PUBLICATIONS section
Therefore, a person can have three entries from this event.
Here are the examples of how the Student Research Symposium should be listed in the CV.
- Student, S. and Stanger, H. Understanding the way medical students put together a poster presentation. Abstract accepted for: NEOMED Student Research Symposium; 2024, Nov. 22; Rootstown, OH.
- Student, S. Understanding the way medical students put together a poster presentation. Poster Presented at: NEOMED Student Research Symposium; 2024, Nov. 22; Rootstown, OH.
- Student S, Stanger, H. Understanding the way medical students put together a poster presentation. J. Med. Sci. 2024 Nov. 22;18(5):245-248.
In addition, you should have an entry in RESEARCH EXPERIENCE that includes three bullet points describing your role in the project.
All questions should be directed to writingcenter@neomed.edu.
