Your favorite poster in the Quiet Study Area is fin-tastic!

The land of the walking whales favors a goldfish with the mindset of a shark.

We asked you to pick your favorite poster in the Library Quiet Study Area, and the one with the goldfish was the runaway winner.

“Besides being a great visual on the poster, it is so true,” says Kimberly Younger, a career advisor in COM Academic Affairs. “We go where our mind takes us; it's where we put our energy and our beliefs, that the energy goes. Focus on the positive and we manifest the positive. If we focus on the negative, that is where our power goes.”

The top poster will move with the others to the Giant Eagle Commons. The move is necessary because of the renovation in the quiet area.

Here are some of your other favorites:

Elizabeth Clary, curriculum site coordinator in COM Medical Education, says this was her favorite.

“When things are overwhelming,” she says, “it's always good to remember that this moment is but a tiny speck of what our whole journey will look like, and as my mother always says, ‘This too shall pass.’”

Madalyn Venard, M2, chose this one, saying, “I think about this quote all the time when I need to motivate myself to be productive!”

It was also preferred by Molly Enrick, lab manager in Integrative Medical Sciences, who says, “It's not very pretty, but I found it the most inspirational.”

Madison Gaskill, program coordinator in Psychiatry, preferred this poster because of its message to students.

“Things might feel overwhelming, impossible to achieve, whether it's school related or not, but growing from your experiences and what you have been through as an individual keeps your growing into the person you will forever be. That person is beautiful, strong, capable and shaping the future of medicine for the better. Growing through experiences is how we shape a better tomorrow for all!”
