Robert S. Laitman, M.D., and Daniel Laitman will present the 2019 Drs. Fred and Penny Frese Lecture, “Hope and Help: Meaningful Recovery from Schizophrenia and Serious Mental Illness with Clozapine.”
WHEN: Oct. 14, 2019, at 3:30 p.m.
WHERE: NEW Center Ballroom
The father-son team of Dr. Robert Laitman and Daniel Laitman will share how clozapine, an effective but underutilized medication for schizophrenia, changed their lives. For Daniel, it allowed him to live successfully with schizophrenia – today he is a stand-up comedian and mental health advocate. After witnessing the power of clozapine to change lives, Dr. Laitman now prescribes and advocates for this uniquely effective medication.
The Drs. Fred and Penny Frese Lecture series honors the late Fred Frese, Ph.D., and Penny Frese, Ph.D., by sharing stories of individuals living successfully with schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses and the ways in which their loved ones support their recovery. The NEOMED Department of Psychiatry and Peg’s Foundation sponsor this lecture annually.
