AHEC Scholars Program Orientation: Getting to Know You and Your Community, Oct. 13

NEOMED will host the AHEC Scholars Program Orientation “Getting to Know You and Your Community” on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Ralph Regula Training Room. 

The day will start with a guest speaker, Mr. Chip Allen, MPH, Director of Health Equity at the Ohio Department of Health. His presentation will focus on the difference between health disparities, health inequities and health equity and the root causes of these issues. The students will follow up with a SOLE (Self Organized Learning Environment) activity surrounding these issues in their communities.

The AHEC Scholars Program is a 2-year program designed as a supplement to existing health professionals program to learn interprofessional team-based education with both urban and rural populations in underserved communities.

THE AHEC Scholars Program promotes interprofessional team-based education dialogue and experiences to enhance access to quality health care in your community.
