Who is OutReach?
OutReach serves to provide quality health care free of cost to Portage County area residents through community health education and the SOAR Student Run Free Clinic (SRFC) in partnership with Student OutReach to the Area Residents (SOAR, LLC). OutReach is a student organization established on the campus of NEOMED over 7 years ago. OutReach has historically existed as NEOMED’s medical and pharmacy students’ outreach to the area underserved of Portage County. Students have been involved in education classes and service projects for community members.

SOAR SRFC is a Volunteers in Medicine Clinic located on the campus of NEOMED in the NEW Center. SOAR SRFC is run by medical and pharmacy students of Northeast Ohio Medical University who are dedicated to providing high quality, non-emergent, no-cost health care to the medically underserved residents of Northeast Ohio. As of 2017, SOAR SRFC has served 179 patient visits and has a projected 350 visits for this year! The Ohio Association of Free Clinics also named SOAR SRFC the 2017 Free Clinic of the Year.

OutReach’s students help to ensure there is support for the SOAR SRFC by applying for grants, hosting an annual casino night, working with the staff from NEOMED, and other fundraising initiatives. The students and faculty of OutReach and the community of Portage County, thank you for your consideration to gift and support the SOAR SRFC!
