Ash Wednesday prayer service and distribution of ashes
The approach of spring is recognized in many cultures and religions with ceremonies and festivals of renewal, reflection and rebirth. For many Christians, it is marked with the penitential season of Lent, beginning with Ash Wednesday and ending with Easter Sunday.
Father Will Wainio, parochial vicar of the Kent State University Parish Newman Center, will visit NEOMED on Wednesday, March 5, to lead a brief Ash Wednesday service and the blessing of ashes from 8:30-9 a.m. in the NEW Center fireplace lounge.
