Blood Drive for Emergency Need, July 12

Nationally, someone requires a unit of blood every two to three seconds. Right now, there is an emergency need for all blood types, and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. In response, NEOMED is hosting a blood drive Thursday, July 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the area outside of Watanakunakorn Auditorium.

Those who come to give blood or platelets Thursday will receive an exclusive Cedar Fair ticket offer that helps support the Red Cross. Go to RedCrossBlood.org/CedarFair after your donation attempt, and you can purchase tickets for the 2018 season at a discount off the gate admission price. For each ticket purchased through the website, Cedar Fair (best known locally for Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky) will donate $2 to help support the Red Cross’s humanitarian mission.

Each person can save up to three lives with just one donation. As a blood donor, you become part of an elite group that helps save lives—from accident victims to cancer patients and others with medical conditions. When you donate, you’re changing the life of not only patients, but also their families.

Walk-ins are welcome, but scheduling in advance is encouraged. To schedule online, visit RedCrossBlood.org, or use the free Red Cross Blood Donor App. Enter Sponsor Code "NEOMED."

Donors may enter a raffle. Pizza will be provided. Make an appointment today!
